What is your professional background?

I am an agricultural researcher working in the fields of agricultural biotechnology, data analysis, tissue culture. and horticulture. I hold a Master’s degree in Agricultural Biotechnology and a Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Engineering with a focus on Agronomy and Plant Breeding.

How did your interest in oaks start?

The topic of my Master's thesis was tissue culture and micropropagation of the Persian oak tree, and I successfully produced tissue-cultured oak saplings for the first time in Iran. Since then, I have developed a strong interest in oak trees and have been conducting research and studies on them.

These are Persian oak plants produced by tissue culture that I produced between 2013 and 2015. In this picture, the plants are in the acclimatization stage.

How did you come to join the IOS?

I was looking for a community that shared my level of interest in oak trees and understood their true value. That's why I joined the IOS.

Which is your favorite oak?

Obviously, Persian oak (Quercus brantii)  is my favorite.

Anything you would like to add?

I am interested in actively participating and sharing experiences and information regarding the protection and conservation of oak forests.
