Itinerary

 

 

Day 1: Monday, October 21

Arrive in Taipei. Depending on your time of arrival, you could visit Taipei Botanical Garden.

Accommodation: Taipei Citizen Hotel, No. 80, Section 1, Jinshan S Rd, Zhongzheng District, Taipei City
 

Day 2: Tuesday, October 22

Travel: Taipei to Guan Xi on National Freeway No. 3, then North Cross-Island Highway to Mount Li-dong and Lala Montain. In the evening, travel to Datong Township, Yilan County.

Species to see: Chamaecyparis formosensis (sacred tree group), Quercus salicina, Q. gilva, Q. sessilifolia, Q. longinux

Accommodation: Mingchi Villa, Datong Township, Yilan County
 

Day 3: Wednesday, October 23

Travel: Mingchi to Chi Lan Forest Recreation Aria, Siyuan Yakou, Wuling Farm.

Species to see: Q. morii, Q. tatakaensis, Q. variabilis, Q. salicina.

Accommodation: Hoya Resort Hotel Wuling
 

Day 4: Thursday, October 24

Travel: Wuling Farm to Taipingshan, then to Qilan.

Species to see: Fagus hayatae, 3 Q. sp.

Accommodation: Qilan Villa, Datong Township, Yulan County
 

Day 5: Friday, October 25

Travel: Qilan to Taroko Gorge, then to Taitung.

Species to see: Q. glauca, Q. tarokoensis.

Accommodation: The Suites Taitung, No. 18, Lane 362, Bo’ai Road, Taitung City
 

Day 6: Saturday, October 26

  • Visit Fagaceae forests of southeastern Taiwan.

Travel: Taitung to Da Wu, return to Taitung.

Species to see: Q. globosa, Q. hypophaea, Q. championii, Q. pachyloma, Q. longinux var. kuoi

Accommodation: The Suites Taitung (see above)

Day 7: Sunday, October 27

  • Travel along East Coast highway to Yilan City.

View beautiful geological and topographic landscapes on the east coast.

Accommodation: Lakeshore Hotel, No. 135, Kaixuan Rd., Yilan City
 

Day 8: Monday, October 28

Travel: Yilan to Fushan BG, then to Taipei.

Species to see: Fagaceae collection at Fushan BG, etc.

Accommodation: Taipei Citizen Hotel, No. 80, Section 1, Jinshan S Rd, Zhongzheng District, Taipei City
 

Day 9: Tuesday, October 29
