Michel Timacheff (Cannes, 1959 - Waterloo, 2018)

There are meetings that prove to be crucial, primordial encounters that mark our lives. My meeting with Michel Timacheff, an afternoon of October 1999 in Vallauris, was one of them.

Bernard de La Rochefoucauld (1922-2017)

Comte de la Rochefoucauld, understandably proud of his Franklinia

Bernard de La Rochefoucauld, long-time IOS member with his wife Brigitte, founder of l’Arboretum des Grandes Bruyères, died July 18, 2017, shortly before his 95th birthday.

Earl Cully, 90, of Jacksonville, Illinois passed away on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at his home. Earl was a long-time member of the International Oak Society and participated in several of our conferences. Early in Earl’s life he developed a passion for trees and he was nurtured by several mentors including horticulture professor J.C. McDaniel of the University of Illinois, who shared his knowledge and ability to “see” and evaluate woody plants
