Plant Focus

Quercus dumosa acorn
Animals, plants, and fungi depend on this humble tree, but its future—and theirs—is all but certain.

OC&R Appeal Almost Halfway to Our Goal!

The IOS Oak Conservation & Research Committee sent an appeal to our membership at the end of 2023. The appeal got off to a tremendous start. We have a goal of raising $30,000. We continue to seek funds to support future grant submissions. Eleven projects have been funded thus far and you can find a description of each on the IOS website here (the final report for the education project “Your neighbors the oaks” has just been added, and it makes great reading!). We extend our sincere gratitude to those who have given thus far and welcome new contributions in any amount. Please help us meet our goal!
